This First Lady is the worst-dressed and has the worst decorum of any of the first ladies of the 20th and 21st centuries. There is no grace in her gait walking from one point to the next. There is no finesse disembarking a plane, and she has dressed in shorts in public on occasion, this is a terrible image for a first lady no matter what the occasion. Her demeanor does not convey respect that her position as First Lady of the U.S. should. In this picture you posted where she is playing Hop Scotch with the kids, there was no need for her to remove her shoes – this is very crass and shows a lack of elegance and panache that the media has bestowed her, but that she does not deserve. She can be an assertive First Lady while at the same time exhibiting grace and elegance and restraint on trying to convey to the World that she is just one of the “little people” she is not like one of us, she is the First Lady of our country and she is held to a higher standard of conduct and politesse. On the other hand - Laura Bush is the exemplar of a First Lady.
