SARAH PALIN PLAYS A VERY IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE TEA PARTY

DON’T TREAD ON ME!
By Laura Mirabal

The Tea Party movement commenced in Seattle, Washington by Keli Carender, a young mother who blogs, around the time of Obama’s stimulus bill. The passage of the stimulus bill only got us deeper into debt, it raised the unemployment rate and there was no economic stimulation worthy of mention. The Tea Party Movement took off through the internet, from one state to another, one home to another.

The movement is called the Tea Party possibly because of the events in 1773 which started a tax revolt by colonists when the British grant a tea monopoly to the East India Company, the Bostonians disguised themselves as Indians and dumped tea into Boston Harbor, and so this event set in motion the birth of our nation.

President Barak Hussein Obama, told America that he wants to fundamentally transform America. Transform it into what? The founders of our great nation took great care in ensuring that government plays a very small role in the lives of its citizens; the Executive Branch has the least power, with good reason.

The president is surrounded by radicals who think just like him. We have seen the direction he wants to take this country and many don’t like it. President Obama said this about law-abiding citizens who protest against the government, “…they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations," this is an actual quote from a speech he gave in Pennsylvania.

Tea Party goers have no representative per se. It is not an organized group, groups are local. Anyone can start a Tea Party group.

The Tea Party is a grass-roots movement. Tea Party goers are peace-loving people. They are grandparents, mothers and fathers. They are hard-working citizens who pay their bills, pay their taxes. They are not all Republican. They are not all white. They are from varied ethnic groups, races and nationalities.

Americans love their country. Yes, our country is not perfect. Yes, we have made mistakes. But does this give a sitting president license to want to trample the Constitution? The more this administration enacts radical agenda which goes against the fiber of the Constitution – the louder the Tea Party goers’ outcry. This administration and Congress turned a deaf ear to our voices. They have a distrust of government, just like our founding fathers.

Tea Party goers are not racist, nor violent – they just decided to not be silent anymore!

Tea Party goers are exercising our First Amendment Right: Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
