Del 7 de septiembre al 22 de octubre se realizó en España la 6ta edición anual de los “Premios Bitacoras.com 2010”. En dicho evento participaron 10, 500 blogueros de todo el mundo, teniendo al país ibérico, Argentina, Chile y México como los más destacados. En total participaron 16 países hispanos. Este servidor tuvo la oportunidad de representar a los bloggers latinos de Miami, Florida, USA.
Al final se eligieron a los 25 finalistas en las diferentes categorías concursantes. Mi blog: “Bitácora Participativa” se ubicó en el lugar # 22 en la categoría de “Mejor Blog Periodístico”. Todo esto se lo debo a la gran cantidad de personas que me apoyaron y me honraron con sus votos, especialmente a mis 4 mil seguidores en Facebook y a las 10 mil visitas que recibe mi bitácora todos los meses. A todos ellos, muchísimas gracias.
Se calcula que existen 126 millones de blogs en el mundo y cada 24 horas se abren 42 mil nuevos más. La mayoría de los bloggers son hombres con edades que oscilan entre los 25 y 34 años, aunque también tenemos blogueras y de muy buena calidad, como es el caso de Yoani Sánchez quien ganó este importante premio en el 2008 y muchos otros más.
El periodismo del siglo XXI ha tomado un nuevo rumbo. Con la aparición del internet cada día son más los que se suman a la blogosfera ciudadana. Ya los lectores no son pasivos como antes y tienen acceso a mucha información que años atrás no estaba disponible. Esto se ha convertido en un gran reto para los comunicadores de hoy en día forzándolos a ser mejores y más actualizados, al final, nos beneficiamos todos.
Quisiera aprovechar esta ocasión para felicitar a todos los participantes en los Premios Bitacoras.com 2010, tanto a los organizadores, los galardonados y todos en general. El periodismo digital está revolucionado la forma en que nos informamos hoy. Trabajemos juntos para que la información no sea tergiversada y llegue a los que nos leen diariamente lo más clara y fidedigna posible. Nos vemos otra vez en septiembre del 2011. ¡Suerte!

Hello JC. First, congratulations for reaching such a high place in this contest; this is an honorable achievement. Bloggers, like you, have revolutionized the way people get their news. Through your blog I discovered that there existed a Yoani Sanchez; her writings are informative and they enrich my knowledge of what goes on in Cuba. To me, she is like the Cuban Ann Frank. I know, from personal experience, that one of the greatest perks that blogging affords the bloggers is the opportunity for self-expression. Bloggers are from, different parts of the world, all shapes, sizes,all economic backgrounds, all age groups, and they cover the whole spectrum of political views. Now, by way of their blogs, they have an outlet, which they never had before, to share their interests and passion with the rest of the world. Bloggers can post their views, opinions, etc. without the constriction of submitting to a newspaper editor who may or may not post their piece. By having our own blog, we just post the piece on it...we don't have to stress over the possibility of being rejected -- because we own it -- we are the editor! I wish you much success with your future endeavors...next year, let's get you up to the Top 10 bloggers -- and the ultimate WIN!...keep up the great work - and thank you.
